Day

I love nature but it is getting a little out of hand at the Chorak home.  First snakes and now frogs!  This is not an ordinary frog  it is a tree frog, which are very big and jump so fast it is nearly impossible to catch them.  I can't believe this creature is in my house.  Thank goodness Chad is home because it took him almost thirty minutes to  capture the thing.  Thank goodness Sarah and Adam were in bed already because if not, the  thirty minutes capture game would of turned into an hour.  Once Chad captured Mr. Tree Frog we laughed so hard because we looked totally crazy trying to capture this thing.  So this  may not seem funny to those of you reading this post but trust me if you saw it first hand you would be on the floor laughing.  !

Day..

When I went to put the laundry away in Adams room, I found his door locked and of course he was not in the room.  I asked Adam who lock his bedroom door and he said "Adam".  I  then asked Adam how I was going to get in his room if the door was locked but  he did not answer me.  Instead he walked away from me, went to my purse, got my keys,  used them on his door and just like that the door opened.  Adam had a clever idea but I made it clear we do not lock bedroom doors ever!  I am eager to see how long this will last, considering Adam loves to take things apart and put them back together again.

Day..
Another Easter egg hunt!
\
Today I took Sarah, Adam and Hunter to New Covenant Church  egg hunt.  This event was open to the public, church members and preschool families.  Since we did not have much planned for the day we decided to check it out.  I think the turnout was larger than the church anticipated because during the egg hunt Sarah, Adam, and a few other children ended up with no eggs.  That did not go over well to say the least but just thankful that Breena (she is in Sarah's class) and a few other children were kind enough to share their eggs with Sarah and Adam.  After spending some time playing with friends on the playground and enjoying hot dogs and hamburgers, which the church provided our day ended with big smiles!

Hunter had more fun walking around showing off his Easter basket.

Day
Sarah's Spring Party....

Today was the Easter Party at Sarah's school.   The event took place in  the parish hall in order to accommodate all the students.   The pre kindergarten teachers always do a super job organizing the special event parties.  During the Easter party there were at least seven different stations that had groups of four or five children rotating  to and from events.  Some of the stations included cookie decorating, making bunny tails, pinning the egg to the basket, counting jelly beans, the rabbit toss and  egg races.  I did take a picture of every activity, although did not post every event.   From the pictures you will see Sarah had a blast and enjoyed wearing her bunny ears the entire day.

Sarah with her friends, Katie, Josie, and Grace while decorating cookies.

Sarah, Katie and Grace writing their names on their bunny tails and adding cotton balls.

Once the girls were finished decorating their bunny tails some of the parents pined them onto the girls.  The girls had so much fun shaking and showing off their cotton tails.

Sarah had a lot of fun playing pin the egg in the basket.  Dhe did a great job not peaking!

The famouse egg race!

A Easter party would not be the same without having a egg hunt. The egg hunt took place outside on the school play ground.   I had a hard time keeping up with Sarah while she tried to get every gg.

One proud Easter bunny witha  basket full of goodies!

Day...

Since we  moved to our new house we have encountered tons of nature and animal life.  Sarah has been amazed with all the lady bugs we have around the yard.  For some reason  Sarah became very found of this lady bug and would not let it go the entire day.  As a matter of fact, she even took it to the grocery store.  The funny thing is the lady bug was just as attached to Sarah as she was to it.  The bug stayed on her body the entire shopping trip.  By bed time she  finally put in in the tomato plant because she did not want it to die. During our bedtime routine Sarah informed me that red lady bugs are boys and girls are orange.  I have never heard of this before so I asked her what made her say that and she replied "silly mom I am a smart girl".  Since I always thought that the lady bugs sex was  determined by size, I looked it up on the Internet in order to see if Sarah was right and what do you think I found?  Unless you have the answer than check out google.com

Day..

This Friday is Sarah's big Sring Party at school and Adam's is next Tuesday.  Each of them have to bring filled eggs for the Easter egg hunt they are having.  Sarah picked out chocolate crunch eggs and tootsie rolls to put in the eggs.  Adam choose erasers to put in his eggs.  I was really impressed at how well each of them opened, filled, closed and counted each egg.  I am a proud to announce that Adam can count to TEN!  Sarah can count to 100!  So proud of my sweet children!

Showing off!  I just love his smile! The shirt Adam is wearing is very true!

Another classic photo of Sarah!  She is so photo genic!

Day..
Special Snack for school.....

Every Wednesday Sarah's class has a special snack.   We signed up for special snack this week.  Since Easter is approaching very soon, Sarah and I decided to make the  famous Easter baskets.  Well we can't take full credit for these cool creations.  Mi Mi, Sarah's old babysitter made them for the the kids every Easter and Sarah just loved them so we thought we would try them out this year.  They are so easy to make is all you need is cake mix, jelly beans, icing, twizzlers, and food coloring.  Icing the grass is the most time consuming part.

Sarah's favorite part, adding the jelly beans and twizzlers.  I just love her silly expression!

We did good and they taste even better!

They were a hit!  Sarah, Adam and I plan on making more for Easter Day!

Day...
Sarah's five year old check up and Adam's three year old check up!

Sarah grew three inches in a year!  She is 43" tall which puts her in the 50-70 percentile. She weights 39.5 pounds and is in the 50 percentile.  Her blood pressure 96/54 and heart rate 96.  Sarah passed her hearing and vision test!  The worst part of the physical for Sarah was the shots but she was a champ and is now ready for Kindergarten! Watching Sarah grow the last year has been a complete joy.  Her developmental  skills such  as movement, fine motor, language, cognitive and social skills are normal or above. Sarah has been a great big sister and plays very well with Adam. I am glad to see that they are best friends and hope this continues in years to come.  Daddy and I are so proud of you Sarah!

Adam grew four inches in a year!  He is 38" tall which puts him in the 50/70 percentile range.  He weighs 36 pounds which is in the 90 percentile. The doctor seemed concerned about his weight and would like  him to eat  fat free dairy and other products.  We use 1% milk and try to stay away from fat free because those products have high aspartame.  At this point in time, Chad and I will keep an eye on his weight but will not be changing much about his diet.  He is only three and by no means over weight and eats healtheir than his sister Sarah. If anything his cholesterol is at an all time low this year (it was finally in normal range) to the point the doctor was very happy.  So I think we will continue on the same path we have been on.
I did not get a picture of Adam during his physical because Chad had the camera, while he was taking pictures of Sarah during her eye and hearing test.  It was more convenient to have their physical on the same day at the same time but now I am sad that I don't have a photo of Adam.  By the time I thought of taking a pictue of Adam, it was to late in the game because he already had his shots.  I will make it up to him when he turns four and then again when he is five.  Plus I don't think he would want to see a photo of himself crying!
My sweet Adam has come so far this year!  Adam's language skills have grown so much in a year which is contributed to the interaction with his sister, me staying home and working with him, going to school twice a week and of course speech therapy.  Other than Adam's articulation he is at or above developmental milestones that are required for his age.  I am so proud of you Adam and keep up the great work.  The last year has been a complete joy watching you smile, laugh and express yourself in ways your daddy and I will treasure forever.

Day...

Today the Chaney family asked us to come over and check out their new swing set. Sarah and Adam had tons of fun playing on Jenna's and Brandon's new play set.   The weather has been in the low 90's so everyone had a blast cooling of in the pool..  While the children played and the dad's were on shift,  Kim and I enjoyed the adult conversation, soaking up the sun and watching our little ones play!

Jenna and Sarah striking a pose!

The sand and water table never fails as a means of entertainment, especially on a hot day!

Day...

Not sure if I mentioned that Sarah is trying to grow her hair out as long as Rapunzel hair.   Well today I was using plastic wrap for some reason or another and the next thing I noticed, Sarah had taken a enormous piece of the plastic wrap to the bathroom.  By this time all I wanting to do is yell, WHAT ARE YOU DOING AND STOP!  Instead, I just observed her as she opened the container her hair bows are in, and watched her connect the plastic to a hair clip and then to her pony tail.  Within minutes it was evident what she was up to, yep, she made Rapunzel hair.  What a very creative idea Sarah!

Day...

12 tomatoes later and this is the largest one yet.  I ate this delicious tomato all by myself and enjoyed every bite!  Wait until you see how big the green peppers are getting! Can you tell we love our tomato garden?

Day...

MORE SNAKES !!!!!

As you can see from this picture Chad has no fear of snakes.  He actually loves the challenge of catching them, go figure!  In the last month we have found three snakes.  The first snake picture is on a previous blog page and a lot larger.  After Chad worked all day on the sprinkler system he came across two more snakes located outside Adams bedroom window.  NICE!   We went  on the Internet to find out what type of snakes we have bombarding our house.  Come to find out, they are garden/rat snakes and are really good to have. I disagree and want them as far away as possible, especially with Sarah and Adam around.  Hopefully after setting them loose far away from the house, we will be snake free for some time.

After we let the two snakes go Sarah came across a snake skin.  She picked it right up and was tickled pink to show it off....... Before bed, Sarah, Adam, Chad and I had a long talk about not picking up snakes and if they see one in the yard, leave it alone and come get an adult.  Chad and I just hope Sarah follows the directions because she has become a big dare devil these days!

Sarah is taking this snake skin to school for show and tell tomorrow.  If you look very close or click on the picture you can see the eyes.  Who just got HEEPIE JEEPIES besides my good friend Mrs. Kapple?

Day....

This picture was acturally taken in Feb.... MNO, moms night out. There is a group of us,  usually more and  sometime less, that get together once a month.  We have not had a MNO since Feb... realizing this we will have to squeeze one in for this month!  Good times at Chili's, Two for One on the rocks Margaritas!

Day...

This is what Sarah made at school.  I am very impressed with the details she added to the people in the picture.  When I asked Sarah why I was not in the picture she told me  "you are in heaven because you got really old that is why I did not make you"  Not sure how to comment on that!  If you click on the picture it will enlarge for a better view.

Day...
Today I had the chance to sub in Adam's classroom.  He actually did really well with me being in the room and this not only surprised  me but his other teacher too.  I will continue to sub from now until the end of the school year and so far I am loving it.  While in the classroom I had a chance to observe Adam interacting with other children and the awesome language skills he used.  Mr. Kolbrick his teacher told me that Adam speaks a lot more with me in the room and she was amazed at how many words he used.
Adam loves the ladybug outfit he is wearing, in fact he wears it everyday! For some reason both Sarah and Adam are obsessed with lady bugs!  Don't you just love this picture? Well I do!

Day...
Just to clarify... I may have lapsed in posting photos to the blog the last few days but did not fail at taking a photo everyday.  All in all I am still sticking to my New Years resolution.

These days Sarah is into all types of art.  She really has taken a passion to painting and coloring.  She never fails to inform me how well she stays in the lines while coloring and how she can paint, not only her first name with a paint brush but her last name too.  Our refrigerator and her room is covered in her creative artwork. Watching her fine motor and artistic growth the last few months has been amazing. Keep up the great work Sarah!

Day...

We have green peppers folks!

The pepper garden has finally taken off  despite Adam karate chopping half of it a few days ago.  Well everyone, the rain has done our garden good.  We now have three peppers.  The pepper that Sarah is holding fell right off .  We have two more that appeared as well but we will leave them alone so they can get bigger.   Crazy stuff but this garden stuff is really cool and boy does the produce from our own back yard taste one hundred percent better than any store bought or organic fruit or veg!  Sarah and I have already devoured four tomato's and that says a lot!

Look how yummy these look.  I hope they get a little bigger.  There are a few more buds ready to sprout any day.  Sarah and Adam are really enjoying the steps it takes to taking care of a garden.  Sarah told me today that we need to plant more tomato and pepper plants tomorrow.  She also informed me that she also wants an apple and orange tree.  Now the orange tree we can handle! Fyi... Chad and I are having just as much fun as the kids are with this garden stuff.

Look what we found this morning!  FYI the collection from yesterday has already been eaten.  Thank goodness Chad and Adam are not big tomato eaters because that leaves more for Sarah and me!

Day....
With all the rain we have had this week, we have tons of tomatos on the tomato plant. When we woke up this morning this is what we found.  Not one, not two, but three ripe tomatos.  We can't wait to dig into them!  They look so yummy!
