Day...
Chad and I decided to buy the summer Oviedo Aquatic pass for $75.00 (price for Oviedo Residents only and includes three pools)  not only because we live less than five minutes away  but also,  what great entertainment for Sarah and Adam.  Especially since  we don't have a pool and the summer is super hot.   Today was Sarah and Adam's second visit to the pool and the water was much more delightful!than when we went on Mother's day.   Sarah and Adam went down the slide at least ten times racing and laughing together.  I can't believe how well they play together, well most of the time.

What are you looking at?  Not sure what this face was all about but Adam was really giving something or someone the look!  He reminds Chad and I so much of his Uncle Mike!  No joke some of you know what I am talking about!

Adam's confidence for the water is building.  He can swim to the wall and loves to walk all around the pool.  I am in the process of finding a place for Adam to take swim lesson's.  He really has no fear but just needs to be pushed by someone other than mom and dad.

Sarah is a great swimmer and does a super job helping Adam.  Sarah jumps, dives into the pool, dives to the bottom of the pool, floats on her back, and  basically you name it, she does it.  Sarah has started taking an interest in the back stroke and standing on her hands.  Adam really makes me laugh because every time he walks across the pool he also moves his arms super fast.  He says to me "mom, look, swim fast, look"  he is so proud of himself that Sarah and I  just cheer him on.

Hunter's first time to the pool.  He did good or I should say, better than I thought he would.  Watching three by myself also went better than I thought.  Having four life guards and a daughter who swims very well helps too!  This is where we will be spending most of our time at this summer and can't wait to have friends join us!

Day....
The storms were really bad tonight.  We had lots of hail and not just little pieces but big pieces.

Adam's hands on learning experience regarding hail!

Look at it and this is nothing!  If I would of grabbed my camera two minutes sooner,  the pictures would have shown  quarter to half dollar sized hail!

Day...

Today was kindergarten round up.  Sarah has been waiting for this day since I registered her for kindergarten a few weeks ago. She has asked me every day "do I go to my new school today". I can't believe that five years has gone by so quickly and in less than three months my first born will start her journey as an elementary student.  I think I like the words kindergartner a lot better because it does not make Sarah sound so grown up.

Sarah was not sure what to think once we arrived.  She hid behind my back for a few minutes just observing all the people and the environment.  Once she recognized Grace (her friend from NC preschool) and Elizabeth (church friend), Sarah finally warmed up.

As you can see from Sarah's face she is not very happy.  She did not want to get breakfast because she wanted to go home.  Sarah did not want to go to kindergarten but instead wanted to go back to her old school.  She said "I don't want to be five mom, I want to be four and stay with Mrs. Smith and all my friends".

After Sarah's nerves settled, (I guess that's all it was) she finally ate and listen to the assistant principle, kindergarten lead coordinator, and PTA president speak.  Once it was time to go on the school tour Sarah was back to the little girl I know and full of smiles.

This is Sarah's friend Grace she is so sweet.   Sarah and Grace attend New Covenant preschool and are in the same pre-k class together.  The principle at Lawton Elementary does not allow parents to request teachers or friend placements. Although he does take into account the best individual needs of every  student.  After speaking with the principle he guided Chad and I with the directions we need to take, in order to make Sarah's first kindergarten experience success!

One happy soon to be kindergarten girl!

Day...

Adam is the most amazing child who enjoys drawing and making shapes.  Adam has also learned a lot of his creativity  from his sister.  Sarah is another one who loves to draw, however each of them have  own style.  Adam spent at least 15min drawing all types of stuff until he showed me this, with such a proud face.  He told me "Mom circle, four circle, look, big daddy circle and daddy"  I could not be prouder of Adam because he actually drew a person, that included features such as  eyes, a nose, and a body that represented  a person.  Some of the  pre-k children I have taught in the past could not even do this until the middle or end of the year!  Super job Adam and keep it up!

Adam is describing every detail!

Day...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I could not of asked for a better Mother's Day!  As a matter of  fact this Mother's Day had many unforgettable moments!  Chad worked the day before and ran calls all night, needless to say when he walked into the door from work,  he looked exhausted.  Sarah, Adam, and I gave Chad some time to catch up on his zzz's why we read books, played puzzles, and packed for Oviedo aquatic center.  Before noon we were out the door and ready to jump into the pool.    The weather was terrific but the water was a little cool, although that did not stop the family from jumping in and playing together.  Chad even went down the big slide and Sarah tried but she was  just a little to short.  We spent almost four hours talking, swimming and relaxing until we were all exhausted and ready to get out of the sun.

Once we got home from the pool Sarah and Adam gave me my Mother's day card.  What Sarah and Adam told daddy about me was so sweet that I teared up and the fact that Chad wrote everything they said down, was so impressive.  This card will certainly go into the scrapbook.

Adam checking out my gift!  Remember we just got home from the pool so this is not the best picture of me.  I added this phtoo to the blog book because I loved how Adam was so interested in being by me and telling me all about my gift!

A PANDORA bracelet.  I was in complete shock!  I have always wanted a Pandora bracelet but never thought I would get one and especially not for Mother's day.  What and awesome gift!  The best part is that a lot of thought and love went into the gift.  The two silver hearts represent Sarah and Adam.  The red, white, and pink heart represent Chad.  Now the soccer ball was an added bonus because Chad and the kiddos know how much I love soccer!  Adam was more impressed with the soccer ball than anything else.  That is because he is super excited about playing in August and also loves playing soccer all thetime in the back yard.

Have a closer look!
I love my family so much!
Chad said he really wanted to do something special for me this Mother's day because he was unable to do so when Sarah and Adam were born.  Plus it was his way of saying thank you for being a super mom the past five years. I am very excited about the  Pandora bracelet  because it is a nice way to represent my family and  future! I will continue to wear my gold charm bracelet that represent my years before marriage and children.  I can't wait to pass these two special pieces of jeweler onto my children and grandchildren one day!

Day...
Today Sarah and Adam attended a Rapunzel birthday party.  LOOK AT TH IS CAKE, IT IS AMAZING!  The birthday girl's, moms friend, made this cake.   I had a chance to speak with the women who  made this cake. I can't remember her name to save my life but recognized her from church and come to find out, she only attending two Michael's cake making classes before creating this cake.  That  just blows my mind!  All the children were in complete amazement about the cake.  My biggest concern was who was going to put their hands in it first or knock it over.  Can't rave enough about the party.  Oh by the way, the party was held in the Wedgwood Tennis Villas club house, which was the neighborhood we used to live in.  The kids had fun showing all their friends the old house!

Olivia turned five and Claire turned three.  Sarah and Olivia attend the same school but are in different classes. Now Claire and Adam are in the same class and really get along.

Grace and Sarah... What GREAT friends!  Grace and Sarah will be going to Kindergarten together and are going to be in the same Daisy troop.  Actually, Grace's mom is going to be a co leader, which will be very helpful.  Can't wait to watch Sarah and Grace's  friendship grow year by year!

This party was full of activities.  Rapunzel pinatas, Rapunzel pin Rider on the tower and a Fun Bus! The kids have seen the fun bus on the road and as a matter of fact, we have passed it on a few occasions but Sarah and Adam  have never been on one until today.  What a great concept and a way to keep children active!  I wish I would of thougt of this idea!

Adam is surrounded by girls but this is nothing knew because their are only four boys in his class.  Look at the girls already admiring my sweet boy or was it the huge Tootsie roll he stuffed in his mouth right before I took the photo? Either way he is still my handsome, one of a kind, lovable  son!

Day...
Muffins for MOMS!

Today is Muffins for MOMS in honor of mother's day.
VPK (Voluntary PreK) is a  free four hour program that the state of Florida offers.  New Covenant Church/Preschool, offers VPK Monday though Thursday 9 -1.  If you want to attend Fridays there is a fee.  Sarah does attend Fridays because that is when many of the extra/non curriculum events happen.  Today the Friday classes put on a recital.  The children sang three different songs.  I did not have a chance to record it and I m hoping one of my friends did because it would be so worth watching.  Needless to say I cried and am already prepared to bring an entire box of tissues for Sarah's PreK graduation.

Front and center and super proud to be singing!  Sarah always has a smile on her face and loves to sing!  It is obvious that Sarah has no clue what stage fright is!

The three PreK teachers did a fabulous job organizing and decorating for this special event.

Sarah insisted that I stay in my chair because she wanted to serve me.  I told her exactly what I wanted and she came back with one small blueberry and one small poppy seed muffin.  She even remembered to bring me a napkin.

The flower is a pin that I wore the entire day, really.... I did not take it off until I went to bed.  Many of you already know how Sarah loves long hair, so her drawings include people with very long hair too.  This is a drawing that Sarah made of her and I.  Take a guess which one is me?  If you guessed the brown hair girl, you were correct.

So proud of her art work.  Like I have mentioned on many occasions Sarah loves and mean loves to draw!

Mrs. Smith asked Sarah tons of questions about me.  All the moms were laughing at their children's answerer's.  I think the funniest question was what the children put down for their parents ages.  I loved that Sarah thought I was only 20 years old because some children put 60 years old.  For the most part Sarah answered the questions accurately.

This is the famous Mrs. Smith (Sarah's teacher)
Sarah has had a super year and loves Mrs. Smith and being a mother as well as a teacher that means a lot!

This is one of Sarah's good friends.  Josie also attends St. Stephan's and the girls are in religious class together.  Come August they will not be attending the same school but will still see each other during Daisy meetings.  It warms my heart to see Sarah developing such great friendships at such a young age and for years to come.

Day...

After searching  on the Internet the last few days.  I found a perfect poem for the class to give to Mrs. Smith.  Each parent added a special touch by adding a personal message for Mrs. Smith. Then Sarah and I added the red paper, sticker and put it in a frame.  On Thursday the students presented it to Mrs. Smith.  It may be hard to read so I added the poem below... ENJOY!
 Why God Made Teachers
When God created teachers,He gave us special friendsTo help us understand His worldAnd truly comprehendThe beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better personWith each discovery. When God created teachers,
He gave us special guidesTo show us ways in which to growSo we can all decideHow to live and how to doWhat’s right instead of wrong,To lead us so that we can leadAnd learn how to be strong.
Why God created teachers,In His wisdom and His grace,Was to help us learn to make our worldA better, wiser place.

Today was Muffins for Moms in Adam's class.  The parents ate muffins and drank tea.  It was nice spending this special time with Adam.  I love you so much Adam!  Adam made this beautiful flower and gave it to me for Mother's Day.

Many of you have probably heard this poem before but it is still so sweet and true.
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.

But every day I'm growing -
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away.

So here's a little hand print
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small.

Day...

I lent my camera to one of the other PreK teacher's and she took some  funny pictures of Sarah's class. Mrs. Jandrew's did a great job taking photos. Thanks again!
.
On Friday this is the frame we gave to Mrs. Smith.  All the children did a great job writing their names. Thanks Margo for taking the time to have everyone sign the frame, considering I could not be at two places at once.  Mrs. Smith really enjoyed the gift!  She hung it on the wall in the classroom!
Mrs. Smith opening the picture frame in front of the class!
Mrs. Smith showing everyone or rather, Sarah telling Mrs. Smith all about the photo!

Bunny Ears!  I had to add this picture to view!  All the kids look so cute and so grown up!  I can't believe all of the students in this picture are off  to Kindergarten very soon!   I am really not ready for Sarah to go to Kindergarten, time just needs to slow down!

Day...

This week  New Covenant Preschool is celebrating Teacher Appreciation week.  Each school celebrates this special occasion at different times, still not sure why because I always thought there was a set date.  Anyway, moving on.  As the room mom  for Sarah's  class, I thought it would be nice to  arranged something special for Mrs. Smith (the teacher)  each day of the week.  On Monday, each of the students brought in hand made cards for Mrs. Smith.  Today, each of the student's brought in one single flower or just a few flowers.  On Monday night I decorated the vase which is you see in the picture and  all the flowers fit perfectly.  I had to sub today, so I am so thankful that my friend Margo (her daughter is in the class too) took the time to cut and arrange all the flowers.  If you ask me I think it looks beautiful, don't you? On Wednesday every class at the school is bringing in a breakfast/brunch item fo the teachers to enjoy in the teacher's lounge.

Mrs. Smith was so excited to see how each individual flower represented each of her student's and how it came together so beautifully.

Adam's class room mom arrange for all the students to bring in a single flower for Mrs. Kolbrick.  It just happened that I was subbing in the class today, so I was able to enjoy round vase full of beautiful flowers.
